If you have ever watched the engine in your Scion xB, on stock motor mounts, during hard acceleration it really rocks back. This results in a moment of power loss during the transfer of power from the engine to the drive wheels. There a few companies providing quality Scion engine damper, but when looking for the best, the search stops with the Ingall's scion engine damper.
When we installed one of these on our 2006 Scion, manual, we immediately stalled the engine when accelerating for the first time. Why, Well, after installing the Ingalls engine damper, the motion of the engine completely stopped on acceleration, this resulted in immediate power to the wheels, which caught us off guard. After realizing what a difference the Ingalls engine damper has made, we now swear by it. This item has been the reason for our solid off the line starts, and tire chirping gear shifts on our Scion.
- The Ingalls Scion xB engine damperitself is excellently crafted.
- The damper manufacture and fitment work that went into this is apparent once you have it in your hands for the first time.
- The damper instructions may seem a bit unclear when just read, but as you follow the steps during the actual installation of your ingalls engine damper, you realize how easy it is.
A note about a front strut bar: The Ingalls engine damper mounting bracket attaches to the passenger side strut tower bolts. If you are running a front strut bar, it will also fit, but you will find the passenger side of the bar a little higher than the driver's side. We were able to remedy this, by installing the OEM spacer plates that came with your strut tower mounts from the factory, and stacking both of them on the driver's side tower under the strut brace bracket. This results in an even strut bar, and clean installation. All for about 5 more minutes of work. It is a highly recommended step while installing our Scion xB ingall's engine damper.
