A must have for any generation Scion xB owner is a set of fogs. The great news here is the amount of options available to you. These come in the form of OEM Scion fog lights, as well as an endless supply of aftermarket fog lights. These can create awesome and unique looks for your Scion box.
OEM fog lights of course are the ones designed specifically for the car. These fit into pre designed fog light areas, have built in wiring, and an OEM fog lights switch location that looks like it belongs there. The down side of OEM fog lights is that you cannot run a cold air intake with these lights installed, or those wishing to ram there short rams will also find these in the way.
After market Scion fog lights are basically universal designs, that can be fit in numerous ways and create numerous styles. The most common search is ones that cleanly fit the lower grill area. These will generally be square shaped and also look very OEM if installed correctly. Some have incorporated the OEM switch to operate these as well. Another version of install that looks great is when they are installed behind an after market Scion upper grill. Here round fog lights, up to four, can create that aggressive rally look to the box.
How does one choose which to go with. Well, there are three options.
- You see a set installed that you like on the street and begin a search for those,
- do a forum or gallery search to find a style that suits,
- or the route I took and a little trial and error of the styles you believe will look well.
The last option of course is the less financially prudent way to go.
