What is the box design of the Scion xB's body really good for.. Awesome sound. The result of that has been a million custom audio set ups, these all begin with a Scion xB custom speaker box. There are a few companies providing custom fit boxes, designed only for the Toyota bB. Some argue these aren't custom because they are mass produced. I argue that anything custom fit for an application mass produced or not, is. You sure won't find one in a Civic or Navigator.
- Audio Formz was the first to produce a fiberglass enclosure for the box for the general market. This also included multiple amp rack products. These fit into the rear cargo area floor inserts, and can be painted to match OEM colors as well as any color of your choice. They hold 10" sub in an enclosed structure, it is important to find a speaker tuned to the air space provided. This along with poly fill provides some great results for a single 10" sub system. You can include a neighboring amp rack, but this causes you to permanently remove the spare tire. To combat that, audio formz also create amp racks that fit the very rear side window areas. All of these components look great, and dwarf the cost of getting fiberglass done at a shop.
Scosche also designed an insert sub enclosure, this comes in black carpet. This is probably the most affordable of the pre made inserts, but you lack the sound quality of the upgraded fiber glass enclosures.
- But, perhaps the best option is a one of a kind set up. This is what a sound system is all about. I have seen some amazing designs for the Scion xB get created. You are only limited by what you can imagine.
